Employees of the Land Transportation Office in Caraga Region (LTO-13) have donated some PHP81,000 to the residents of Region 2, which is still reeling from the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.
Region 2 and the rest of Luzon were placed under a state of calamity due to the damage inflicted by the typhoon.
“Our coworkers at the LTO in Region 2 told us that people there really need help as of this time,” LTO-13 Regional Director Nordy Plaza told the Philippine News Agency Monday. “We gathered the amount from the individual contributions of all our employees in Caraga Region, including those from the district and extension offices.”
Plaza said the donation was coursed through LTO-Region 2, adding he was thankful to the employees for heeding his call.
Urbano Maglines Jr., LTO-13 chief of operations, said it was up to the LTO-Region 2 to distribute the financial aid.
“They can buy rice and other basic needs, if available, and distribute the same to the affected residents in the area,” Maglines said. (PNA)
